The hinterland
After a visit to the local sea aquarium, it is certainly worthwhile to visit Bergen, a few kilometers inland, with its historic village center from the fifteenth century, where art markets are held in summer.
For the children there is also a pancake restaurant with playground.
A trip to Alkmaar with its historic city center and the narrow, ancient streets is highly recommended. In summer, our famous cheese market is located in Alkmaar. You can also visit the Schermer, the Beemster, or Castricum in the vicinity.
